Company Background
The owners of Loksa are driven by a desire to make sustainable, energy efficient and healthy housing available to all people.
They understand that, for this to be achievable, a global approach is required. Loksa is a New Zealand-owned company that has grown its global operations through acquisitions, direct foreign investment, obtaining consents and licences and the utilisation of local expertise. Put simply, Loksa thinks globally and acts locally.
Loksa’s success lies in the development of an exceptional team who understand the local culture, government regulations and different government entities in each country where Loksa operates. Loksa today is the culmination of two decades of business relations in New Zealand, China, Fiji, Brazil, Australia and the USA.
Being a transnational company, Loksa has a standardised global strategy using local execution. It is Loksa’s investment in time and the company’s understanding of local business culture that has enabled it to establish strong relationships and local expertise – some of these connections have existed for well over two decades.
Whilst Loksa’s head office operates out of New Zealand, members of Loksa’s management team reside in key locations throughout the world, including China and Brazil.
Members of the Loksa team have been doing business in China for over 18 years. In mid-2007 Loksa completed the first phase of a manufacturing premises in China.
Loksa is currently operating a wrought iron manufacturing and home assembly plant in the Quangdong province. Plans have been drawn for two additional manufacturing plants in Jiang Xi and Inner Mongolia. These 120,000m2 facilities, are currently going through the permitting process in both provinces and are scheduled to be constructed, in stages from 2010 to 2013.
For the past five years, Loksa’s product development division has operated out of its Christchurch premises, developing the Loksa building system and specialised componentry products that make up a Loksa Home, for manufacture in China.
